Sono di Taiwan e mi sono laureato in ingegneria elettrica

Che lavoro fai?

Sono un ingegnere elettronico specializzato nel collaudo di prodotti, in particolare nella verifica e validazione di sistemi audio e di intrattenimento per veicoli

Cosa ti ha ispirato a diventare un costruttore LEGO?

Il mio viaggio nel mondo LEGO è iniziato quando avevo tre anni. Ho ricevuto un set LEGO a tema spiaggia (set 1761) da un'assistente di volo durante un viaggio in Malesia. Questo ha acceso la mia passione per i LEGO! La mia creatività è cresciuta ulteriormente partecipando a concorsi LEGO locali a Taiwan

Dove trovi l'ispirazione per le tue creazioni?

Trovo ispirazione in ciò che mi circonda, persino nei miei sogni! Mantengo un sistema di appunti completo in un software digitale (Heptabase), dove registro tutte le mie idee e ispirazioni LEGO. Ora ho centinaia di idee registrate e non sento più la mancanza di ispirazione come prima

Qual è la tua creazione LEGO preferita tra quelle che hai realizzato finora?

Ho molte creazioni che amo. Di recente mi sono impegnato molto in "Nausicaä della Valle del Vento", rendendo omaggio a un film dello Studio Ghibli che adoro

Qual è stata la sfida più complessa che hai affrontato come costruttore LEGO?

Smistare migliaia di pezzi LEGO è una vera sfida! Sogno una macchina in grado di smistarli 24 ore su 24, 7 giorni su 7, e ho persino chiesto a ChatGPT se fosse fattibile ;). Se qualcuno dovesse mai creare una macchina del genere, fatemelo sapere!

Hai una tecnica preferita o un metodo particolare che utilizzi nelle tue costruzioni?

Di solito mi concentro sul raggiungimento dell'integrità estetica e strutturale piuttosto che su tecniche specifiche

Quali temi o soggetti ti piace esplorare di più nelle tue creazioni?

Esploro molti temi, tra cui elettrodomestici e anime. Ultimamente mi sono concentrato sugli animali, lavorando a creazioni come una rana dagli occhi rossi, un pesce pagliaccio e una pulcinella di mare, e ho in programma altri progetti a tema animale!

Qual è il progetto più grande o più ambizioso che tu abbia mai realizzato?

Ho una serie di oggetti di uso quotidiano di dimensioni extra-large. Il mio ultimo progetto è una gigantesca prolunga di 60 cm, con spina di ricarica e interruttore luminoso funzionante!

Quale consiglio daresti a chi vuole diventare un esperto costruttore LEGO?

"Non devi essere bravo per iniziare, ma devi iniziare per diventare bravo." La chiave è la passione e la perseveranza, e il fatto stesso che tu stia creando è già fantastico. Concentrati su ciò che ti appassiona e migliora lungo il percorso: attirerai naturalmente coloro che apprezzano davvero il tuo lavoro!

Where are you from and what did you study?

I'm from Taiwan, and I majored in electrical engineering

What do you do, what job do you do now?

I'm a product testing electronic engineer, focusing on testing and validating in-vehicle audio and entertainment systems

What inspired you to become a LEGO builder?

My LEGO journey started when I was three. I received a beach-themed LEGO set (set 1761) from a flight attendant on a trip to Malaysia. This sparked my passion for LEGO!

My creativity grew further from participating in local LEGO competitions in Taiwan

Where do you get inspiration for your creations?

I find inspiration from my surroundings, even in my dreams! I maintain a comprehensive note system in a digital note-taking software (Heptabase), where I record all my LEGO ideas and inspirations. I now have hundreds of ideas recorded so far, and I no longer feel the lack of inspiration like I did before

What is your favorite LEGO work that you have built so far?

I have many creations I love. Recently, I put a lot of effort into "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" , paying tribute to a Studio Ghibli film I adore

What has been the most complex challenge you have faced as a LEGO builder?

Sorting through thousands of LEGO pieces is challenging! I dream of a machine that can sort them 24/7 and even asked ChatGPT about its feasibility ;). If someone creates such a machine, please let me know!

Do you have a favorite technique or a special method that you use in your constructions?

I usually focus on achieving aesthetic and structural integrity rather than specific techniques

What themes or subjects do you like to explore the most in your creations?

I explore many themes, including home appliances and anime. Recently, I've focused on animals, working on creations like a Red-eyed tree frog, Clownfish, and Puffin, with more animal themes on the way!

What is the largest or most ambitious project you have ever made?

I have a series of oversized everyday items. My latest project is a giant Extension cord that is 60 cm long, featuring a charging plug and a working light-up switch!

What advice would you give to someone who wants to become an expert LEGO builder?

"You don't have to be great to begin, but you have to begin to be great." The key is passion and persistence, and the fact that you're creating is already amazing, Focus on what excites you and improve along the way— you'll naturally attract those who truly resonate with your work!
