Da dove vieni e cosa hai studiato?
Vivo sull'isola di Vancouver, sulla costa occidentale del Canada. Sono un fotografo, scrittore e designer autodidatta
Cosa fai, di cosa ti occupi?
Sono un fotografo professionista e un artista LEGO
Cosa ti ha ispirato a diventare un costruttore LEGO?
Ho sempre pensato che i LEGO fossero una delle invenzioni più geniali al mondo. Da bambino, era il giocattolo con cui potevi costruire altri giocattoli! Incredibile! Da adulto, sono rientrato nel mondo LEGO dopo la nascita di mia figlia
Da dove trai ispirazione per le tue creazioni?
L'ispirazione viene da ogni angolo del mondo creativo, ma i diorami dei musei, SimCity 2000, i trenini elettrici e l'architettura sono sempre nei miei pensieri
Qual è la tua creazione LEGO preferita tra quelle che hai realizzato finora?
La mia creazione preferita è quella che sto realizzando in quel momento, anche se è anche la più frustrante ;)
Qual è stata la sfida più complessa che hai affrontato come costruttore LEGO?
La microscala è sempre una sfida, perché non c'è margine di errore. È l'equivalente LEGO di essere uno chef di sushi
Hai una tecnica preferita o un metodo particolare che utilizzi nelle tue costruzioni?
Trovare un accessorio per minifigure che inaspettatamente si rivela un elemento architettonico è sempre una grande soddisfazione
Quali temi o soggetti preferisci esplorare nelle tue creazioni?
Architettura e paesaggio sono il cuore delle mie costruzioni. Questi due elementi si combinano per creare una narrazione visiva di un affascinante mini-mondo
Qual è il progetto più grande o più ambizioso che tu abbia mai realizzato?
Sarà divertente per chi non è appassionato di LEGO, ma la mia costruzione più grande misura 28 x 38 stud. Ho in programma di realizzare una micro-città panoramica di 96 x 24 stud
Quale consiglio daresti a chi vuole diventare un esperto costruttore LEGO?
Ci sono molti costruttori straordinari da studiare su Instagram e altri canali. La cosa più difficile è trovare il proprio stile unico tra la folla, ma ci riuscirai se continuerai a impegnarti
Where are you from and what did you study?
I live on Vancouver Island, on Canada's west coast. I'm a self-taught photographer, writer and designer
What do you do, what job do you do now?
I'm a professional photographer and LEGO artist
What inspired you to become a LEGO builder?
I've always thought that LEGO was one of the world's premier inventions. As a child, it's the toy with which you can make other toys! incredible! As an adult, I reentered the LEGO world after my daughter was born
Where do you get inspiration for your creations?
Inspiration comes from every corner in the creative world, but museum dioramas, SimCity 2000, model trains, and architecture are always on my mind
What is your favorite LEGO work that you have built so far?
My favorite work is whatever build I'm creating at the moment, though that is also the most frustrating build ;)
What has been the most complex challenge you have faced as a LEGO builder?
Microscale is always challenging, as there is no room for error. It is the LEGO equivalent of being a sushi chef
Do you have a favorite technique or a special method that you use in your constructions?
Finding a minifigure accessory that unexpectedly works as an architectural element is always a thrill
What themes or subjects do you like to explore the most in your creations?
Architecture and landscape are the heart of my builds. These two things combine to make a visual story of an intriguing mini-world
What is the largest or most ambitious project you have ever made?
This is going to be funny for non-microscale enthusiasts, but my largest build is 28 x 38 studs. I am planning to make a panoramic micro city of 96 x 24 studs
What advice would you give to someone who wants to become an expert LEGO builder?
There are many amazing builders to study on Instagram and other channels. The hardest thing is finding your unique style among the crowd, but it will come if you keep working at it
