Di dove sei e cosa hai studiato?
Vengo da una piccola città di Okayama (Kurashiki), in Giappone. All'università ho studiato pittura ad olio
Cosa fai, che lavoro fai ora?
Sono un modellista per LEGOLAND Japan e gestisco l'attività di famiglia, un negozio di spade giapponesi antiche
Cosa ti ha ispirato a diventare un costruttore LEGO?
Mi piacevano i modelli in plastica, ma dopo essermi sposato e aver giocato con i mattoncini LEGO insieme ai miei figli, me ne sono innamorato
Da dove trai ispirazione per le tue creazioni?
Mi ispiro alle creature e alle macchine che vedo nella vita di tutti i giorni
Qual è la tua creazione LEGO preferita tra quelle che hai realizzato finora?
Una lumaca
Qual è stata la sfida più complessa che hai affrontato come costruttore LEGO?
Ho creato una scena in collaborazione con altri costruttori ed è stato molto difficile adattare lo stile e le proporzioni
Hai una tecnica preferita o un metodo particolare che usi nelle tue costruzioni?
Espressione di superfici curve attraverso l'uso di numerosi pezzi a clip
Quali temi o soggetti preferisci esplorare nelle tue creazioni?
Le creature che sono diventate il motivo ricorrente del mio lavoro riflettono la mia ammirazione per le meraviglie della natura
Qual è il progetto più grande o ambizioso che tu abbia mai realizzato?
Mi spingo sempre oltre i miei limiti
Quale consiglio daresti a chi vuole diventare un esperto costruttore LEGO?
Punta a creare costruzioni che siano immediatamente comprensibili ai bambini piccoli e a persone di diverse nazionalità e lingue. In altre parole, realizza creazioni che non richiedano alcuna spiegazione verbale
Where are you from and what did you study?
I am from a small city in Okayama, (Kurashiki), Japan. I studied oil painting as my major in university
What do you do, what job do you do now?
I am a model builder for LEGOLAND Japan and I run my family business, a store selling antique Japanese swords
What inspired you to become a LEGO builder?
I used to enjoy plastic models, but after getting married and playing with LEGO bricks with my children, I fell in love with them
Where do you get inspiration for your creations?
I get inspiration from the creatures and machines that I can see in my daily life
What is your favorite LEGO work that you have built so far?
A snail
What has been the most complex challenge you have faced as a LEGO builder?
I created a scene in collaboration with other builders, and it was very difficult to adjust the style and scale
Do you have a favorite technique or a special method that you use in your constructions?
The expression of curved surfaces using a lot of clip parts
What themes or subjects do you like to explore the most in your creations?
The creatures that became the motif of my work reflect my enlightenment to the wonders of nature
What is the largest or most ambitious project you have ever made?
I push my limits every time
What advice would you give to someone who wants to become an expert LEGO builder?
Aim to create builds that can be instantly understood by small children and people from different countries and languages. In other words, make creations that don't require any verbal explanation
